Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Bossier City police have arrested a Shreveport police officer on a felony charge of malfeasance in office as the result of a prostitution investigation last week.
Officers with the BCPD Vice Unit arrested Efrain Conde, 43, of Shreveport this afternoon on a criminal arrest warrant.
Conde’s arrest stems from an investigation conducted last Friday night by the BCPD Vice Unit in which an undercover officer made contact with a woman, later identified as Leigh Ann Johnson, 40, of Bossier City,via the Internet who agreed to meet him at a local hotel for the purpose of having sex for money.
When Bossier City officers arrived at the hotel they noticed a male subject sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked Shreveport police car in the parking lot. Officers initiated their sting and took Johnson into custody. She was taken to the Bossier City Jail and bookedon two bench warrants for failure to appear. She was also issued a citation for prostitution.
A subsequent investigation determined that the individual in the Shreveport police car, who was identified as Conde, had arranged to meet the suspect at the hotel for the purpose of having sex for money. Conde was on duty at the time. Based on evidence from their investigation, officers obtained the warrant for Conde’s arrest on the malfeasance charge. He was taken into custody at Shreveport police headquarters and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
