Shreveport standoff ends after 3 hours, at least 1 arrested
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A large number of Shreveport police officers, including SWAT members, were at the scene of a standoff Wednesday morning.
According to the Shreveport Police Department, the incident was sparked by reports of shots fired at around 6 a.m.
Authorities were also called to the same address in the 1800 block of Jewella on a domestic violence issue at 2:30 a.m. Officers attempted to contact someone in the house, but no one answered. The alleged victim, a woman, was safely taken away from the scene.
The incident was resolved shortly after 10:30 p.m. One man has been arrested and another, who was also inside the home, was detained. The circumstances around the suspect's arrest is unclear.
No charges against the unnamed suspect have been released to the media.
Police also say a 3- to 4-year-old child was being held by the suspect during the standoff, however, no one was injured during the incident.
