Shreveport woman pleads guilty to East Texas bank robbery
TYLER, TX- —
A Shreveport woman is facing up to life in prison after pleading guilty to robbing a Regions Bank in Tyler,
TX back in March.
Vanessa Ashley Ashford, 28, of Shreveport, entered her plea Monday in an appearance in 241st State District Court in Smith County, TX.
When the robbery happened, the Regions bank was reportedly robbed by a woman with a large knife.
Witnesses were able to get a partial license plate of the woman's car, a black Chevrolet Impala.
Tyler Police Officers were able to locate the vehicle not far away. They pulled the vehicle over and found a bag full of money and an exploded die pack in the trunk of the woman's car.
She was arrested for the robbery, and admitted to officers that she also robbed a Telco Credit Union in Tyler on February 29th.
