Suspect in discount store robbery captured

SHREVEPORT-A man suspected of robbing a local discount store sits behind bars tonight after authorities tracked him down at his west Shreveport home.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, authorities with the Shreveport Police Department's Tactical Robbery Unit along with patrol personnel, responded to a home in the 3200 block of Darien Street relative to executing an arrest warrant for 25 year old Chadrick Louis of Shreveport. 

Louis was wanted in connection with the armed robbery of the Dollar General store located in the 4600 block of Mansfield Road on yesterday. Louis was developed as a suspect in the robbery of the business after authorities were able to use evidence gathered during the course of the investigation to link him to the crime.

On police arrival at Louis' Darien Street home, authorities were successful in apprehending him from inside without incident.

A hand gun believed used in the robbery, along with other articles were located inside Louis' home that authorities believe are connected to several other similar crimes.

Following interviews conducted by detectives, Chadrick Louis was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on armed robbery charges where he remains on a bond of $250,000.00.
