Suspect in shooting is now in jail
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — A man wanted in connection with a shooting that seriously injured a Shreveport woman is now in police custody after surrendering to authorities yesterday evening.
At 8:00 p.m. Marc Scroggins, 21, of Shreveport, along with legal counsel, came to Shreveport Police Department where he surrenderede to authorities without incident.
During an ongoing investigation, detectives with Shreveport Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit were able to gather information linking Scroggins to the May 2, 2013 shooting of Dorothy Johnson, 54, who was standing inside her home when she was hit by a bulled believed to be fired by Scroggins.
After interviews with investigators, Scroggins was booked into Shreveport City Jail on an arrest warrant charging him with a single count of attempted homicide.
