Suspect wanted for May burglary

Shreveport police investigators are seeking the whereabouts of a fugitive accused of vehicle burglary.

On May 31, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the suspect, Kenjaquel Smith, broke into a vehicle parked at a local business in the 2200 block of E. 70th Street. After breaking the driver's side window, he took the victim's purse. Within minutes from taking the victim's purse, Smith used one of the victim's credit cards to purchase food at the Sonic Drive-In on E. 70th Street.

Store video was reviewed and investigators were able to identify the suspect as Smith and obtained an arrest warrant for burglary of a vehicle.

Anyone having knowledge of the whereabouts of Smith is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 673-7373 or www.lockemup.org where a reward of $400.00 is offered for information leading to his arrest.
