This is evidence that the principals, teachers, staff and students have been working hard and no longer will have this unacceptable label."
Based upon the 2012-13 Academically Unacceptable Schools list, the 15 AUS Caddo schools are: Atkins Elementary, Fair Park, Caddo Middle Career and Technology, Lakeshore, Mooretown, Queensborough, Werner Park, Westwood, Woodlawn, Midway, Newton Smith, Alexander (Alternative School), Shreveport Job Corps (Alternative School), Academic Recovery Ombudsman (Alternative School), and Community Ombudsman (Alternative School). Dr. Dawkins continues, "Although I am happy to see schools come out of AUS, work must continue to be done to address the remaining schools. A focus of assessment and evaluation will continue at these schools. Everything at the school level revolves around the increase in student achievement and that must happen at these schools."
