Longview, Tx — A third suspect was arrested Tuesday and charged in the slaying of Ronnie Joe Gammage, whose beaten and burned body was found Dec. 19 in Upshur County.
Andrew Conrad Norwine, 21, was arrested by Vernon Parish, La., sheriff’s deputies about 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Vernon Parish Jail official.
Norwine was arrested on an outstanding Upshur County warrant charging him with capital murder. He was held at the jail in Leesville, La., under a $1 million bond.
A jail official indicated Norwine would be extradited to a Texas facility.
Longview police spokeswoman Kristie Brian confirmed Norwine was the third suspect in the death of Gammage — a case now considered closed by the Longview Police Department.
Two other suspects were arrested Dec. 19 and charged with aggravated kidnapping and capital murder in the slaying.
