Three murders this year... what does that mean for 2013?

Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 5:58pm

Shreveport Police are starting the year off in a memorable way, but not in a way they would like.

After having just 20 murders in 2011 and the same in 2012, the city is already at it's third murder of the year.

On January 3, family members found 57 year old Stephen Bryant and 49 year old Madonna Dean Walker dead inside a Highland neighborhood home.

Then, just 4 days later, 20 year old Montrell Webber died after being shot in a Queensborough apartment complex.

Shreveport police promise that they are doing everything in their power to stop the trend, which they don't believe will continue. But that promise isn't making some residents feel safe.

Time will tell if the trend ends or continues.
