Shreveport, La (KMSS) — Authorities are searching for two men who held up a west Shreveport bank Tuesday morning.
Shortly after 9:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Capital One bank, located in the 6100 block Greenwood Road, to an armed robbery. When police arrived at the scene, witnesses told them two masked men, armed with guns and dressed in dark jump suits, entered the bank ordering everyone to the ground. One of the bank robbers also forced a woman outside the bank inside at gunpoint.
Once both bandits were indoors, one of the men allegedly fired a shot into the ceiling.
The gunmen are described as black males, about six feet tall and weighing between 170-180 pounds.
The robbers were able to take an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving the business in a late model, orange colored, Dodge Challenger.
No one was injured during the incident.
About an hour later, law enforcement officials found the suspected car abandoned on Jefferson-Paige Road near Sandra Drive. It was later learned the vehicle had been stolen from a local dealership Monday night.
At this time, detectives are awaiting surveillance footage in efforts to identify and arrest the men responsible for this crime. Police are urging anyone with any information about this crime to contact Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or Shreveport Police at (318) 673-6955.
