Two men arrested for early morning shooting in west Shreveport
Shreveport, LA (KMSS) — Two men are arrested after an early morning shooting in west Shreveport.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Shreveport Police were called to the intersection of Monkhouse Drive near Interstate Drive for a call about "shots fired."
On arrival, officers made contact with three victims who were riding in a car they claim was shot by a group of armed men that were driving a gold colored car.
Reports showed that an argument involving both groups had occurred at a gas station on Monkhouse Drive just before shots rang out. The victims were in the process of driving away from the scene when the shots were fired at their vehicle causing a crash.
No one was injured during the shooting, but the vehicle matched the description provided from the victim's statements.
The suspects were found leaving the scene traveling east bound on I-20. After a description of the suspect vehicle was broadcasted it was later located on Jewwella Avenue near Doris Avenue.
A traffic stop was conducted on the car and the two men were arrested.
Christopher Hayes, 22, of Shreveport, and LeBrandon White, 19, of Shreveport were arrested at the scene. Officers found two handguns in the car and later learned that one of the weapons had been reported stolen.
Hayes and White were interviewed and information was gathered that linked them to each crime. They were both charged with illegal use of a weapon and White was additionally charged with illegal possession of stolen things.
Both Hayes and White were booked into Shreveport City Jail.
The incident is still under investigation.
