SHREVEPORT, La. — The rain might have left the Ark-La-Tex for now, but some local residents woke up this morning to flooded streets and backed up sewage.
Locals in the Southern Hills section of Shreveport experienced raw sewage flowing on
Streets. The overbearing water and sewage that submerged from below eventually receded.
“This is a common problem when it rains like this,” said Barbara Featherston, who serves as Interim Director for the Shreveport Water Department.
“We are currently searching for funding to repair and fix some of the old sewer pipes, but we haven’t been able to locate funding just yet”, said Featherston.
Featherston also says that heavy debris brought on by heavy rain played a big part as well.
