SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — A Caddo Parish School bus accident that happened this morning has left the driver recovering from surgery to his leg.

The accident happened this morning around 7:45a.m near the Caddo Middle Magnet School in Shreveport.

Officials say that they believe the driver struck a steel gate while dropping the students off at the school.

Several students were treated on the scene for minor injuries and the driver was taken to a local hospital with a serious leg injury.

Officials are still investigating.
