Brandon Hines is a native of Birmingham, Al. and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Brandon joined the Fox 33 team in November of 2012. He graduated from Huffman Magnet High School and is an Alumnus of The University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his bachelors in broadcast journalism with a minor in communication management. Brandon got his first taste of the television world in Livingston, Al at the University of West Alabama where he anchored the highly rated show UWA Today. After his sophomore year in school he felt the need to return back to his hometown. During the summer of 2007 Brandon received his first internship being only a sophomore in college at ABC 3340 in Birmingham, Al. There he covered numerous local stories including the memorable bank robbery in Bessemer, Alabama. But during the summer of 2008, Brandon finally got his big break in the news world when he was accepted to work for Fox News Channel in New York City. There he produced numerous segments and also was noted as one of the best interns to anchor the sports segment on Fox’s number one rated cable morning show Fox & Friends. Soon after leaving New York City Brandon was ask to join the Palestra.net/Uwire.com team as a reporter. One of his most noted stories was the coverage of the historic 2008 Presidential Election. Brandon is happy to call Shreveport his new home. Brandon says his favorite part of the job is meeting new and interesting people from all around. “Every person on this planet has a unique and interesting story to tell,” he says.
